Rewinding Spring Semester-PR Pubs
As one of the requirements for our final project in PR pubs we were asked to look and read through all of our blog posts and reflections throughout the semester. What surprised me is how much I’ve learned and grown throughout the course of this semester.
When my adviser told me I would be taking pubs simultaneously with capstone I was worried wight he amount of workload I would have, but ideally the two worked cohesively together to allow me to learn more. I was implementing things I learned in pubs while in Capstone, and no one could tell that I was just now beginning to branch out into indesign and canva. In fact, it was almost more beneficial to be learning new tools and tricks as I was going throughout the course, because it was more fresh in my mind than others.
Throughout this semester I learned that I’m not as meticulous in other softwares than I am in the ones that I’m comfortable with. I get frustrated easily with InDesign, and feel as if I’m a pro (not really), with photoshop. With a sense of comfort has developed a whole new sense of confidence in my work and what I am capable of. My turning point was the social media assignment, when the company I designed social media promotions for actually ended up using them. The process was so simple that it helped me learn that I was over thinking things too much in the past.
Moving onto graduation this upcoming weekend I’m excited to have different mediums of work to show potential employers as I enter the workforce and start applying. I feel like these skills will only contribute to my contributions in the future and have made me more confident in becoming a PR professional.
