This week, my PR publications class explored Canva and made social media posts.I chose to make my posts for Marcum’s Nursery – a nursery in Norman. There was no specific reason that I chose this company, I was just excited about springtime!

Canva was great to use – it allows for simple manipulation of images and text. However, you’re not able to do a lot of editing. Yes, there’s simple editing…but sometimes there are problems: there are fixed distances you can move a specific object, there is a limited amount of filters and there are more editing frustrations.

A public relations practitioner can leverage tools like Canva to create designs. There is so much inspiration on the site for many different types of publications, which can be extremely helpful. It is also good for simple editing if you don’t feel like going through the motions on a different type of software.

Overall, I really liked Canva and getting to do this assignment.
