Social Media Sprint

This week in my Publications course we experimented with an online program called Canva. Canva allows you to easily make social media posts that are already formatted to the correct size for each social media site. We were asked to design a Facebook cover and post and a Twitter cover and an Instagram post for a brand of your choice.

I chose to do Kate Spade. I chose this brand because I knew it would give me the opportunity to create a fun and colorful design that I would enjoy making. I decided to make all my designs depict a spring sale that was going on at the store. Therefore, I used summery references and colors.
I had never heard of the program before but I was excited to see what it had to offer. When I first opened the program I was a little overwhelmed because this was the first time using a program in this class that I wasn’t familiar with. Once I started playing around I discovered that Canva is very easy to navigate.  Overall, I really enjoyed the program but sometimes I was frustrated because it limited my creativity. I think that this program is a really quick and easy tool for beginners. It allowed me to create very visual designs very easily. I will definitely considering using it in the future.
