Stakeholder
As the week continues in my PR Publications course, we were asked to find another stakeholder for my direct mailer from the School of Meteorology. As a quick refresher, my first stakeholder was females age 16-18 attending magnet schools (specifically for math and science) on the West Coast.
At OU, our Meteorology program is only 20% female (YIKES). So, I figured women would be ideal candidates for a direct mailer to be sent. In addition to high school-aged girls, I decided a college guidance counselor at the specific magnet high schools would be a seemingly perfect last piece to my puzzle of stakeholders.
These mailers will allow their counselors to reach out to their students and provide them with the guidence that they may not receive by just looking on the internet or by word of mouth. College counselors serve as dominant stakeholders in my opinion, and It is simply because they have much more influence over us than we think. They also serve as an extremely active public. College guidance counselors SEEK out information for the primary stakeholder (the student) in order to remain highly involved.
I am anxious to get started on this mailer for the guidance counselors! Stay tuned for my next blog post of the design. You may leave your computer screens once or twice, Ill allow it! (Kidding, but seriously it will be in the next blog post titled “Reflection”)
