Stakeholder

Reading through the assignment and the guidelines I feel like there are a number of different stakeholders that would be important in reaching out to as part of OU Recruitment Services. Here are some of the stakeholders I thought about for this assignment.

Parents age 41-50; College degree; Income: $80,000; Have a child in high school. I chose this stakeholder because I believe parents play a huge role in decided where and if their children go to college. Most parents that have a child getting ready to graduate high school would fall into this age bracket and would be looking for information about different colleges. Parents having a college degree are more likely to encourage their children to get a degree as well. Finally, having a staple income that is above average allows parents to consider college as a viable opportunity.

Bi-lingual high school seniors; age 17-19; ACT/SAT accepted scores. I chose this stakeholder because I think that these students would be a great addition to our university. As a OU recruit agent, it would be important to talk about the various language courses that are offered at OU, our excellent study abroad program and our international student organization. Bi-lingual students would be encouraged to know that they can continue their second language or could learn an additional one. They would also be more willing to join these organizations to talk to others that speak the same language or to study abroad and take their skills to the real-world.

Adult 65 or older; RETIRED but still wants to learn; Income $75,000. I wanted to really think outside the box and came up with this stakeholder as another public that OU recruiting could tap into. Just because an individual is older does not mean that they do not want to learn. Targeting individuals 65+ gives us the opportunity to get people that have disposable time and money. Creating messaging that encourages these individuals to not stay at home but instead come to campus to learn is a great idea. Focusing on history classes or How-To classes that help with new technologies would make older adults more incline to come back to school. Sometimes it is not about getting a degree but learning more about what you want to learn.
