Stakeholder
In my PR pubs class, we have been asked to create a segmenting stakeholder matrix. However, before I can do that I have to designate a stakeholder. I have decided to make my stakeholder a north Texas high school student who is 17 to 18 years old and is planning on attending college.
The message that I want to send this stakeholder is simple. First, I want the stakeholder to understand that OU is close enough to their family in north Texas, but still far enough away for them to create their own identity at college. Second, I want the stakeholder to understand that OU has a great online presence that can fulfill their need for information. Lastly, I want the stakeholder to understand that OU is the place where they can grow as an individual as well as find their home in the OU community.
The first part is all about proximity to their family. The University of Oklahoma offers north Texas high school students the best of both worlds. It is close to their home, but at the same time is far enough away to become more independent. This is important, because it allows these students to embark on freedom and independence, but at the same time it gives them a place that is near their family support system.
The second part is all about the online presence of OU. The University of Oklahoma offers a great website that is easy to navigate as well as supplies useful information. The truth about searching for colleges is that it is hard to understand what is important to look for and where to find this information. The University of Oklahoma has a website that empowers the visitor to learn more about OU and it also has a simple online application.
The last part is all about the community of OU. The University of Oklahoma offers a great place to grow as an individual as well as in a group setting. OU has many passionate professors, inspiring organizations and fun activities for students to utilize. This is important, because it allows these students to discover who they are as a person and expand their horizons with other students.
