Summary of Learning
The day has come. I have complete my final project for PR Publications. Although, this is a very bitter sweet moment. I throughly enjoyed the class and learning new skills that will be useful to me throughout my career. I trusted myself, creativity and instincts more than I have in any course. For my summary of learning project, I chose to create a direct mailer. I chose this because I really enjoy working with Photoshop, and wanted to continue challenging myself with the software. The direct mailer created was to inspire and challenge Gaylord students to take a PR Pubs course. As I mentioned previously, I enjoyed this class and wanted to share my passion for it with other students. To begin the design process, I researched a few of the current digital trends to see what might catch a students eyes. I went with the geometrical-shaped blue background. I believe the geometric shapes of the background easily catch one’s eye. My vision for the mailer was to challenge students to push themselves to a different level and see what they are able to accomplish. At the beginning of the semester, I assumed I would do horrible in the course because I had very minimal design experience prior. After the first project, I learned a lot about myself. I realized I simply needed to trust the creativity and ideas I already have and make them come to life. This is the vision I wanted to translate to the mailer created, and I hope students take the chance on themselves… and dare to design.
