Summary of Learning Action Plan
I’ve decided to showcase my work for my Public Relations Publications class by creating an entire website for potential employers. My plan is to give potential employers my student business card which would include my personal website information that the employer could go to, to see samples of my past work. Luckily for me, I’m one step ahead of the game and already have personal business cards that my dad made me. On my current business cards I have a website link that I made years ago for another class that is way out of date, so my initial plan is to figure out the login information to that already existing web page and hopefully bring it up to date and come up with a more appealing site using my new color, design, and space techniques I’v learned over the past 3 months. In doing things this particular way, I avoid the problem of making all new business cards and can actually update my preexisting site to match my already finished business cards. Ultimately, this final project has given me the motivation to finally update and maintain my personal website that was created as a result of a class project in high school. My new page will have a much better, more cohesive look about it. I’ll organize things better and try to include a biography of myself with my goals and career aspirations, a page wit my contact information, and of course a page with my portfolio that includes all of the relevant work I’ve done in the past. The website domain I’m going to use regardless of if I can get into my old account or now will be weebly.com because 1) it’s free, and 2) it’s easy for me to control and work with. The ultimate purpose of my web page will be to showcase my work to potential employers and hopefully get a job from it, while showcasing what all I have learned about design and it’s principles in my PR Pubs class. I just wanted something that would bring all of my work together in one place that would satisfying my both my personal and educational needs.
