Summary of Learning: Pubs is Good

I can’t believe I am done with my last project for PR Pubs! As our last assignment we were asked to create a project that reflects our semester in pubs. I had the most trouble coming up with an idea that reflected how I felt throughout the semester as well as how I felt nearing the end. So I decided to make a flyer with the title “Pubs is Good.”

I didn’t really know what to expect from this class coming in, but I always kept an open mind and a sense of optimism when coming across challenges. It can be overwhelming coming into a class knowing that you’ll eventually have to work with Photoshop and InDesign and kind of be good at it. But it was a learning process that will benefit me in the end.

The reason I went with the “Life is Good” theme is because sometimes we can get overwhelmed with all that we have going on and forget that everything we did in this class was so it can benefit us in the future. From the business card to the newsletter every question and struggle I went through all helped me grow as a designer. Sometimes it is necessary to take a break and realize that life really is good and so is this pubs class!

Sixteen weeks ago if someone would’ve asked me to design something on InDesign I would laugh and asked what InDesign was. Everyone knows about Photoshop and I always thought that only the creative geniuses could operate it. This class has not only taught me the skills to efficiently use these two programs but has also taught me that I can be creative (sorta). This class has allowed me to grow as a designer and become more comfortable with my creative ideas. I am so thankful I had a professor like Croom that played good music in class and would answer questions like “How do I delete this box?”
