Technological bootcamp was hard
This past week, my classmates and I were taught how to work on inDesign and Photoshop. I was never really big on computes so the process of simply understanding the way the programs looked was difficult for me. On InDesign were asked to take a picture of a man, take out the white background, make him proportional to the screen, and then insert the title or logo of the company as well as some wording. On Photoshop we got to pick any picture we wanted and were told to crop it to the best of our ability. At the beginning of the assignment I didn’t think the work we were doing was going to be that difficult. Unfortunately for me, it was over-my-head difficult. It was hard for me to find the proper tools to use for certain things, and since I was moving slower than the rest of the class I was losing direction on what we were doing next. There are also certain ways you can insert pictures on inDesign for it to be correct, so when it was my turn to do it by myself it was rough. Photoshop was a little easier, and seemed more “kid-friendly” to me, I’m not sure if that’s because I had attempted to crop pictures once in sixth grade or what. I was a little upset that the assignments were this hard. I know these are going to be things I’ll have to know how to use efficiently in the futures, so I know I have a lot of time ahead of me getting comfortable with these programs.
