Recently in class we discussed the topic of typography. During my experience with typography, I realized I’m rather inadequate at font games. I doubt this will hinder my career much, but my pride was a little hurt.

I started with the game “Kern Type” where I was unpleasantly surprised to find out that it is the most frustrating game in the galaxy. I received above average scores every time but I never could receive a perfect 100 and believe me, I tried.

Next, I took a shot at “Type Connection” where I got to set fonts up with a font that is just their type. The only issue that I had with this game was I wasn’t very good at it either. However, I found it less frustrating. I’m not very great at playing Cupid in real life so it only makes sense that fault would seep into type life.

Lastly, I played a game I knew I would be good at due to my cinephile nature. The game “Poster Letters” lets you try to guess what movie that font is associated with. I was able to guess 21 of them. And though there were 46, the fact that I knew 21 movies so well I could guess their fonts brought me a weird sense of joy making this my favorite game by far.
