Typesetting Assignment
TIME TO PRACTICE!
For this publication’s assignment, I was given a sample layout to copy for a front cover of a newsletter.
This particular assignment also marked my returned to the much feared InDesign that I had avoided since high school. I was always turned off by the complex look of InDesign. To me, if I could do the design work in Publisher or in Word, there was no need to know.
However, I found out that I absolutely need to take advantage of this opportunity. InDesign makes publications look 100 percent more modern and beautiful. Contrary to the fear of it being too difficult to handle, I discovered that it is actually more practical. The simplicity is one of the things I really love about it, I was able to use and become more familiar with the facilities of the program through the class lessons and the Lynda.com tutorials.
I will certainly be using this program more and hopefully improving my skills in it.
