Playing these games helped me appreciate how important fonts are and how are they used. There are so many different ways to write copy and it’s important to choose fonts that are impactful and practical to your layout.

 

The first game I played was “I Shot the Serif”. I enjoyed this game because it fed my competitive spirt while simultaneously teaching me how to spot Serif from other fonts.

 

The second game I played was Empire Features. This game was cool because it showed how important and memorable some fonts can be when it comes to popular media. The fact that I could name an entire movie simply base on one letter in the title is pretty awesome.

 

The third game I played was Type War. This game really helps you understand the difference between many fonts. I think that any professional in a field that is related to graphic design should use this game to brush up on their typography knowledge and skills.
