Typography
Week two of my PR Publications course schooled me in the basics of graphic design. Our instructor emphasized the importance of Typography to the art of visual communication, and in an attempt to sharpen our eye for this design concept, we were assigned a series of Typography games.
Shoot the Serif
Until this game, I had never given thought to the distinction between serif and sans serif fonts. This game really gave me an eye for both!
Poster Letters
The idea of this game was to guess the movie title based on one letter from the movie’s poster. As you can see by the amount of empty answer boxes, this game was definitely more challenging than I expected!
Kern Type
Before playing this game, I had no idea that the act of distributing space between letters was called, “kerning,” which was the goal of this game. I was surprised, I actually did better on this game than the others!
