As a public relations student, I have always been aware of fonts but have never taken the time to know them. Through a few games, I got to know a handful of the fonts very well. I played Type War, Shoot the Serif and Kern Type.

Type War was full of frustrations as I was trying to obtain level 10 for extra credit. The loss of achievement upon missing one question was discouraging; however, I knew the fonts very well by the end of the game. Obtaining extra credit at level 10 was great also.

Shoot the Serif was the next game I played, and this game was difficult and frustrating. The fonts were confusing, so I did not succeed as well. However, I know the difference between the Serif fonts now.

Kern Type was the final game I played, and I enjoyed this game because I felt that it will help me greatly with design in this class. I also learned that seeing things with the eye is not reliable.

Overall, I enjoyed the activity because I feel that the games prepared me for some of the design aspects that will come with boot camp next week when we truly begin learning the programs.
