Typography!
Shoot the Serif: Once I read this game title I immediately starting singing Eric Clapton’s song, “I Shot the Sheriff,” and knew it was destiny for me to play this typography game. This game helped me differentiate between serif and san-serif fonts a.k.a “tails” or “no tails”. I enjoyed this game because it challenged my ability to determine whether or not a font was serif even if the font was altered in a more creative, curly design.
The next game I played was Poster Letters. I was excited to play this game as soon as I started to recognize movie title letters like Cars and Shrek, but when it came down to other letters I was clueless. It was interest to see where the other letters were pulled from like The Terminator and Disney Channel’s “Sister Sister”.
Lastly I played Kern Type. I didn’t really understand this game other than I had to space out the letters to a degree that suited the best layout, but the letters extended in blue to show where the letters should have been spaced to once you submitted them. I would be interest in learning more about what this specific game was targeting learning wise.
