Typography/ Gaming
In this lesson of my PR Pubs class I am learning the important components of design and its key principles like typography. By playing games recommended by my professor I never really payed attention to how much impact a font can convey to someone.
The games we played in the lesson were actually pretty challenging, but very enjoyable. I spent a long time playing the Poster Letter game which was my favorite since I love movies. I was really rusty at first, but was so shocked at how every step at creating those “fonts” were thought out. From the color to size and the imagery all had too be very time consuming to produce.
I understand why typography is so important because it adds character and an emotional connection to a brand or company. For example, Cocoa Cola or Pepsi people automatically know the logo and whimsical fonts to those companies that makes them memorable.
Another example, would movies titles. If movie titles did not have some sort of appeal to them then it wouldn’t be as compelling to watch because the title of movies is like a signature logo that people feel some sort of attachment to.
