Update
I’ve decided, quite last minute, to completely redirect the direction of my mailer. I wasn’t happy with my target stakeholder and couldn’t seem to find a way to connect with them. The male students, who had played or would be interested in sports, was simply too broad to focus on. I played around with pictures of the stadium and cheerleaders, but nothing seemed to fit or turn out the way I had originally planned. I’ve worked with trying to do cheerleaders, but again, I couldn’t find a connection to the people I was targeting. I think the hardest part of this whole assignment, aside from Photoshop and technology in itself being nearly impossible to figure out and work, was reaching out to the parents. The students and future Sooners (hopefully) was easiest, but finding a way to connect with their parents was the tough one. I have decided to do 16 to 18 year old girls, typically sophomores to seniors in high school, who live in the state of Oklahoma and are interested in rushing in the Fall semester of their freshman year. I am going to focus on the fact that they will find a sisterhood of a lifetime, because these girls and their families are very close and family-oriented. The parents are on the edge, and will be easier to please if we show them the amazing benefits of being in Panhellenic—for example grades and philanthropic activities. I believe this will make me happier with my final product.
