Visualizing
Thinking about the business card that I would like to design for Nintendo I come up with a lot of ideas without how I want it to look.
I want it to be simple. I want whoever looks at it to know that is about gaming. I want them to know that it is about Nintendo. I want them to know that the company takes it’s history and traditions very seriously and they never forget about the past.
I really want the visuals of the card to drive what the company is about. Video games, more often than not, are not about reading they are about seeing and playing. I want the card to be playful or make you want to play a video game. Even thinking about the games they create, Nintendo’s main characters do not talk a whole so the words that are used need to be precise and to the point.
I feel like the visuals need to mean that this is Nintendo, that we have come a long way, that we are always down to play and have fun. I think that the person being handed the card needs to look at it and instantly be pulled in to learn more. They already know about the company but feel like there is a vast reservoir of information that they do not know and only will if they look into the job. They need to feel like there are tons of secrets because likely there are. That the card is so simple, yet so powerful in meaning that it gets them itching to learn more.
