Reflection

For my most recent PR publications assignment, I was asked to design a business card for a company of my choice. When I heard about this assignment, I thought that it might be kind of intimidating. As I said in my last reflection, I’m not very good with visual creativity and I wasn’t sure how I … Continue reading Reflection

Research 2

For the second part of my research regarding Phillips 66 I took a little bit deeper look into the company. This is what I noticed. After researching the company’s competitors, I had a good understanding of what makes my online publication different from the others. We were then asked to create an inspiration board and a mood board on Pinterest to get ideas about how we wanted our business card to look. Competitor Analysis

The Odyssey’s website is different from that of BuzzFeed and Elite Daily in both looks and organization. The homepage of The Odyssey is very sleek and clean looking with mainly white and black, while BuzzFeed’s is very messy looking with bold colors. Elite Daily is somewhat clean looking, but still has a lot of content on it’s homepage. The Odyssey is organized with 9 different categories, while BuzzFeed has more than 30. Elite Daily has 12 categories, but they also have other types of pages such as “Change Our World” and “Love Hurts.” What really makes The Odyssey different from its competitors is that the majority of the articles are focused towards college students, and therefore choose topics that they will be interested in. While BuzzFeed and Elite Daily do this as Read More …
